A Case Study – Design alternatives for vaccine facilities

On the second day of World Vaccine Congress Asia 2013, Mr. Klaus Hermansen will be sharing a case study on designing alternatives for vaccine facilities. He will be speaking on driving flexibility for vaccine production with facility standardisation, designing approaches to reduce cost of goods as well as examining successful facility design case studies.

Mr. Hermansen is currently the senior process specialist within the business development group in NNE Pharmaplan, Denmark, and heads the company's vaccine design group. He started his carrier at Novo Nordisk, where he was in charge of manufacturing, and later moved into the vaccine business – also here being responsible for manufacturing in various positions in Denmark, the Netherlands and in the UK. Klaus has been engaged in several biotech projects regarding multi-product facilities and single-use technology and he is an expert within the area of vaccine manufacturing, containment and single-use technology. Klaus holds a Master’s degree in biotechnology from the Technical University of Denmark.
