Overcoming the renewed threat of smallpox

Bioterrorism has led to a renewed threat of smallpox, which is increasing in severity, especially with the recent outbreak of human monkeypox. At World Vaccine Congress Asia 2013, Mr. Mick Martin, together with Mr. Suebpong Sangkharomy, will be speaking on overcoming this renewed threat of smallpox. Specifically, he will be explaining how this threat of small pox deriving from terrorists has been mutated to monkeypox. He will also share on overcoming the limitations of Generation 2 Smallpox Vaccine with IMVAMUNE – the only generation 3 Smallpox vaccines and introduce Imvamune in vaccination strategy for smallpox preparedness.

Mr. Mick Martin is currently the Regional Director of Government Affarirs APAC at Bavarian Nordic, Malaysia. He was previously with Texas Instruments, Silicon Graphics, Juniper Networks and Sun Microsystems, as well as Australia's Communications Design and Management Pty Ltd and KAZ. Mr. Suebpong Sangkharomy is a Retired Lieutenant General and Consultant in the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Science at the Royal Thai Army, Thailand.
