Narrowing immunisation gaps in Vietnam to eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases

On the first day of the upcoming World Vaccine Congress Asia 2013, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung will be speaking on the topic "Narrowing immunisation gaps in Vietnam to eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases". The talk will cover identifying diseases with the highest priority and demand for vaccine development, implementing state initiatives to increase the uptake of under-utilised vaccines as well as accessing effective vaccines to reduce the burden of vaccine-preventable diseases.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung is currently the Vice Chief of Vaccines, Biologicals and Biosafety Department – General Department of Preventive Medicine in the Ministry of Health, Vietnam. Previously, he worked at the National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (MoH) and the Division of Communicable Disease Control, General Department of Preventive Medicine (MoH). He holds a Ph.D from the National Institute of Hygiene and Epydemiology and a Masters from the Military of Medicine Academy.
