Hepatitis B – What’s new on the HBV vaccine watch?

At the World Vaccine Congress 2012 in Washington, Dr Timothy Block from the Hepatitis B Foundation talked about the prevention of Hepatitis B and the unmet needs in terms of both prevention and treatment of the disease. What can be done to meet these needs? Tell us below!

350 million people in the world are chronically infected with HBV, mostly in Asia and Africa, showing the necessity for this research. HBV is major etiological factor for liver cancer.HBV vaccine was successful in decreasing number of HBV cases to less than 50,000 cases per year. Chronic HBV also dropped 10 fold in countries where the vaccination was implemented. The success of this vaccine makes this presentation an exciting read!

    i have got the hepatitis B. but i have given the vaccination for my wife & my kids also.now they are in negative mode. for their secure can you suggest me latest information and which vaccination is much better to give my whole family.
